Dr. Long Vu, DO, MS, D.ABA

Meet Long Vu, DO, MS

Long Vu, DO, MS, D.ABA is a dual board-certified physician in Pain Medicine and Anesthesiology with more than 20 years of experience dedicated to his specialty. He practices precision health optimization, leveraging deep biomarkers and genomic insights to build a collaborative roadmap for maximizing his patients’ health span and performance. His specialties include Interventional Pain Management with particular interest in regenerative medicine/stem cells and longevity medicine. Dr. Long’s passion for longevity medicine is best understood through his own words – and through his love of tennis: “To me, approaching longevity medicine in respect to healthcare is like how I would approach hitting a tennis ball. I want a solid base, with my weight and momentum on my front foot, leaning into the ball as I strike it.” Just as a great tennis shot requires that solid base and willingness to lean into the moment of impact, so too does longevity medicine to ensure the same intentionality and forward momentum in patient care. To Dr. Long, medicine isn’t reactive; it’s a dynamic, energized pursuit of what’s possible.

Regenerative medicine and longevity medicine are, to me, the forefront of medicine, or medicine 3.0,” he adds. “I’m thrilled to be able to use my interventional skills and expertise and apply them to this exciting area of medicine at thriveMD.”

Education

Dr. Long’s path to medicine was shaped by a deep desire for human connection and the meaningful impact a physician can have on a patient’s health and wellbeing. His career represents, in his own words, “a promulgation of 20 years dedicated to my specialty, grounded in a holistic approach, and the burgeoning knowledge base of longevity and regenerative medicine.”

He earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine in 2000 from Midwestern University, Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine, and completed both his residency and fellowship training at Harvard University’s Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. He is board certified in both Pain Medicine and Anesthesiology.

What continues to drive him as a physician is a trifecta of motivation: the intellectual challenges and curiosity of modern medicine, the profound human connections forged with patients, and the rich variety that each new patient brings every day.

Over the course of his career, Dr. Long has served as lead physician at a large multi-specialty healthcare organization with a focus on interventional pain and medication management programs, staff physician launching new pain management services, and, most recently, as a private practice provider at an interventional and multi-disciplinary pain clinic.

Dr. Long’s Approach to Care

Dr. Long leads with a science-first, data-driven philosophy, while never losing sight of the individual in front of him. He combines rigorous clinical analysis with genuine collaboration, working alongside each patient to craft a personalized roadmap toward optimized health and longevity. He recognizes that while the goals of good health may be the same, no two patients are alike. Even when diagnoses or objectives are shared, the path to wellness may look entirely different from one person to the next. That’s why his approach is as flexible as it is precise, adapting treatment plans to meet each patient exactly where they are. That commitment to care extends beyond the exam room. “I am dedicated and meticulous, putting patient care first and foremost,” he states. “I also believe that attitude changes everything, so I try to engender a positive and supportive work environment. I want each employee to know their role is very important to a great patient experience, just as equal to mine.”

Personal Interests

Dr. Long grew up in Washington State, where family life revolved around the outdoors – fishing, camping, and time spent in nature. Those roots stayed with him, and he still cherishes any chance to get outside and unplug.

His other great love is tennis. He’s an avid player and devoted fan, with a bucket-list dream of attending all four Grand Slam majors in a single year. He’s even mapped out his retirement plan: an RV road trip across the country, following the tennis tournament circuit, with his wife of 25 years flying ahead to meet him at the nearest Ritz-Carlton.

At home, Dr. Long is a proud father to a 20-year-old son and a 17-year-old daughter, and shares his household with two rescue dogs and a cat.
