Frequently Asked Questions
What if I'm not sure which option - Introductory or Elite - is right for me?
It’s normal to feel unsure about which option is right for you. At thriveMD, we guide you through the decision, starting with your first Provider Intake Appointment. During this one-hour visit, you’ll talk about your health and goals with a provider, who will help you choose between the Introductory Longevity Assessment and the Elite Longevity Assessment.
What’s the difference between an Executive Physical and the Elite Longevity Assessment?
An Executive Physical, offered by many health systems and concierge practices, is a comprehensive, single-day health evaluation that goes beyond a standard checkup and typically includes advanced bloodwork, diagnostic imaging, and cardiovascular screenings.
The Elite Longevity Assessment at thriveMD takes things a step further than an Executive Physical. Along with all the usual tests, it adds a global lab panel, cancer blood screening, genetic and biological age testing, and micronutrient analysis. You’ll also have a half-day session with your provider to review your results and create a personalized longevity plan, which may include targeted supplements, hormone optimization, and more advanced screenings.
What is longevity medicine?
Longevity medicine is still a new field in some respects. However, people have been looking for ways to stay healthy and live longer for centuries. Today’s longevity medicine builds on years of research and data to help people reach their best health.
Longevity medicine focuses on creating a care plan tailored to you, aiming to improve your quality of life at any age. It uses advanced testing and hormone optimization to help you improve your diet, exercise, and brain health to reach your best possible health.
It might seem too good to be true, but recent research shows that using biomarkers of aging and preventive care can help people live longer and more effectively than just treating illnesses as they arise. Longevity medicine lets you and your doctor work together to keep your mind and body performing at their best for longer.
Is longevity medicine effective?
Longevity medicine works, but not everyone will get the same results. Genetics and environment can play a big role, such as increasing the risk of certain cancers or exposure to harmful chemicals or pollutants.
This is why the Elite Longevity Assessment is so valuable. It provides a full-body screening, helps you make lifestyle changes to lower your risk of illness, and offers medical support to boost your physical and mental health. By using different methods and personalizing care, longevity medicine can help you get the most out of life year after year.
How does a cancer blood screening work?
Many types of cancer shed DNA fragments into the bloodstream early in their course. These DNA markers are small, identifiable pieces of a cancer cell and indicate that cancer is (or was) present in the body. Cancer screenings at thriveMD work by detecting evidence of cancer DNA in the blood, allowing physicians to identify cancer early and gather evidence to determine where it may have originated.
